Limericks death toll

After six months of peace in the city and a radical decrease in gun crime, the violent gangland feud erupted in bloodshed again at the weekend. The Dundon-McCarthy gang is understood to have been behind the latest atrocity which has left the city reeling. The Dundon-McCarthy gang, based in the Ballinacurra Weston area of the city, is regarded as one of the country's most dangerous criminal gangs and has been to the forefront of crime in the region since family members returned from England in 2000. The long-running feud is over a battle for control of the lucrative drugs trade between the Dundon-McCarthy outfit who are allied to the Ryans, against their rivals from St Mary's Park, the Keane and Collopy gangs.
