Outlaw motorcycle gang knee-capped Comanchero at a Christian-run motorbike show
knee-capped at a Christian-run motorbike show yesterday in the latest of a string of brazen, bikie-related attacks across Sydney. The shooting occurred late yesterday afternoon at the Silverwater Street and Custom Motorcycle Show on Clyde St, Silverwater. Known as a family-friendly event, witnesses reported seeing five men wearing the club colours of an outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) stand over a 33-year-old man. It is believed the victim is a member of the Comancheros. Police were told a bullet was fired into his kneecap, leaving him writhing in pain. Flemington inspector Eric Coffin said several shots were fired, but it was too early to say what bikie gangs were involved. ``At this stage, we believe both parties are part of OMCGs,'' he said. Witnesses said the sizeable crowd attending the event left ``in a hurry'' once the police arrived"We were up on the other side of the park when we heard a shot fired,'' a witness said. "We came down and saw paramedics attending to a man. He was in a lot of pain and was screaming. They had knee-capped him.''
The show was put on by the Brotherhood Christian Motorcycle Club, based at Parramatta, which does not have a record of outlaw activity. The shooting follows a string of brutal bikie assaults in the past week, including the bombing of a Hells Angels clubhouse on Wednesday and a drive-by shooting on a house in Auburn on Thursday.
