suspected member of a gang called the Moorpark Locos was arrested just after midnight Saturday following an alleged fight at a sports bar in Simi Valley.Alfredo Rodriguez, 18, of Moorpark was arrested on suspicion of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, being in possession of a loaded handgun in public and carrying a loaded handgun in a vehicle. He was booked at the East Valley Sheriff’s Office in Simi Valley.The arrest came after officers from the Simi Valley Police Department responded to a report of 20 male gang members fighting at the Arena Sports Grill & Bar on Enchanted Way in Simi Valley. Some of the men had been pepper-sprayed by security officers at the bar. When police arrived, all of the men had fled and there was no indication of any injuries to the remaining patrons or security officers.A short time later, a citizen reported seeing a suspected gang member with a handgun at a nearby Del Taco restaurant. Using a description of the suspect’s vehicle, police stopped the vehicle on westbound Highway 118 at Madera Road. Five males and three females in the car were detained, and Rodriguez was arrested. An investigation is continuing.
