Yardie gangsters ,Police in early morning swoop in bid to break Yardie gangs peddling crack in Edinburgh - The Daily Record

Police in early morning swoop in bid to break Yardie gangs peddling crack in Edinburgh - The Daily Record: "POLICE stormed six suspected drug dens yesterday in a dawn swoop on Yardie gangsters peddling crack cocaine.
The Edinburgh raids followed a six-month operation to smash a Jamaican drug ring who moved north from England with a plan to flood the capital with crack.
Senior officers said the swoop, involving more than 100 officers, had sent a message to the Yardies that Scotland is no soft touch.
And they warned the city's dealers that the raids were only the first wave of an offensive to put them out of business.
Chief Superintendent Gill Imery, divisional commander for Edinburgh, said: 'This is the early part of an enforcement phase.
'There are people not from the city, but from the north of England or elsewhere, who have mistakenly thought Edinburgh is a place where they can establish their criminal network.
'Today's operation is the start of a very clear message - they absolutely cannot do so."
