Gang member arrested for having loaded, concealed gun; pickup impounded - San Jose Mercury News: "alleged gang member from Patterson was arrested early Sunday for allegedly having a loaded gun hidden in a pickup, the California Highway Patrol said.
Juan Barone Garcia was one of four passengers in a white, 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, which was pulled over on Soquel Avenue near Hagemann Avenue about 3 a.m. because the truck had modified exhaust, officer Jeff Hatcher said.
The driver was unlicensed, Hatcher said.
While preparing his truck for impound, an officer found the handgun where Garcia had been sitting, Hatcher said.
Santa Cruz police responded as well, and reported that Garcia admitted to being a gang member."
