Opener Yelawolf for the “Waken Baken 2010″ tour defends his tour mate Wiz Khalifa who was arrested for marijuana possession last week.
“Its my homie. Its inevitable. That man smokes so much weed, he needs to move to Cali to live where its legal,” said Yelawolf expressing his disappointment with a knowing grin to AllHipHop.com. “I don’t want to see him locked up or f**ked up or facing charges or having to pay the court system his hard earned money because he smokes weed. Like who cares?”
Pennsylvania rapper Wiz was busted with 60 grams of the illegal drug at East Carolina University post-concert. MTV reports that he is charged with two felonies for maintaining a place for storage and intent to distribute and a misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was finally released on $300,000 bail. Rather than showing remorse over his heavily publicized habit, illustrated by the recent release of his own line of rolling papers, Wiz confirmed a consideration for moving to California where the laws on marijuana possession are more relaxed. “I am tired of catching cases in Pennsylvania over marijuana.” He stated to AllHipHop.com in October, “Its medicinal too, above everything, it’s not just a cool thing to do…the s**t works.”
Their joint tour, with Wiz as the main act, ends in Allentown near the PA rapper’s hometown of Pittsburgh on November 16th. Yelawolf is planning his own debut album and urges Wiz to be more careful, wishing him the “best of luck.”
