Police smash triad ring: "Organised Crime detectives have smashed a triad syndicate. Police say the gang is thought to have laundered about 400 million dollars in crime proceeds over a seven year period. The arrests were the result of a two-year-long probe jointly mounted by the Organised Crime and Triad Bureau and the financial investigation group of the Narcotics Bureau. Detectives raided a number of premises and five nightclubs around the territory and arrested 19 people. They include members of a family and some relatives and friends as well as suspected members of the triad gang. Investigators think the alleged ringleader was a member of the family and that the gang had been involved in vice related activities and had been laundering the proceeds"
