Long Beach anti-gang detective shooter(s) on the loose - National Violent Crime | Examiner.com: "In Long Beach, California, police are searching for the person (or persons) responsible for shooting and wounding a Long Beach Police Department anti-gang detective as he was driving in a patrol car with another officer.
Long Beach police say that the incident occurred at approximately 10:55pm Saturday, in close proximity to Anaheim Street and Gundry Avenue, when a suspect riding in another car grabbed a gun and fired several shots at the detectives’ unmarked squad car, which contained emergency lights as well as a siren.
The law enforcement official had been shot once in the upper torso and was taken to a hospital, where his condition has been listed as “stable.”
The detective, who has not yet been identified, is known to be 30 years of age and served the department for nearly seven years.
Following the shooting, the suspect(s) got away in a vehicle."
