O.C. gang member convicted of murder, carjacking | L.A. NOW | Los Angeles Times: "Santa Ana gang member was convicted Tuesday of murder and carjacking
in a series of gang-motivated crimes, authorities said.
Johnny Guevara, 29, was convicted of carrying out his crimes to benefit a criminal street gang and faces a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole plus an additional 25 years to life in state prison, the Orange County district attorney's office said.
Wearing masks, Guevara and an unknown accomplice used a gun to kidnap a man on Oct. 22, 2008, as he drove his car in Santa Ana. The man was thrown out of his vehicle but survived, according to prosecutors.
Several weeks later, Guevara fired six shots at a tagger who was drinking with friends in a Santa Ana parking lot. The victim was hit in the head and died, prosecutors said."
