Sonoma County motorcycle gang member was convicted Tuesday of attempted murder, mayhem and torture for a 2009 Lakeport home invasion robbery in which a man was shot, beaten, hog tied and robbed of marijuana.

Thomas Loyd Dudney, 60, also was convicted of robbery, burglary, assault with a firearm, assault and battery with great bodily injury, participating in criminal street gang activities and special allegations involving firearms and gang activity, said Lake County Deputy District Attorney Art Grothe.

During the attack, Ronald Grenier was shot several times, including twice in the chest. He also suffered rib and facial fractures, Grothe said.

Dudney faces more than 20 years in prison, Grothe said.

A member of the Misfits, Dudney and at least one other person attacked Grenier. The investigation into the crime is continuing, Grothe said.

The attack was marijuana related, Grothe said. Several days before the assault and robbery, Dudney and two others visited Grenier's home, asking about 10 marijuana plants that Greiner reportedly was growing for his former girlfriend.

An altercation broke out when Greiner told them the plants were gone. It was unclear what happened to the plants, Grothe said. Several days later, Greiner was attacked and robbed of about 10 pounds of marijuana.

Dudney has a long criminal record that includes a conviction for manslaughter, Grothe said.
