Bulgarian drug boss Dimitar Zhelyazkov, aka Mityo Ochete ("The Eyes"), who is supposed to be serving a 4,5-year imprisonment sentence
Bulgarian drug boss Dimitar Zhelyazkov, aka Mityo Ochete ("The Eyes"), who is supposed to be serving a 4,5-year imprisonment sentence, attended Saturday night the opening of a disco club in the Black Sea town of Pomorie, Burgas District. The news was reported by the Bulgarian newspaper Trud Daily, which was alerted about Zhelyazkov's appearance by the head of the Burgas Police Directorate Vasil Edrev himself. Zhelyakov was at the opening of the Atrium Disco in Pomorie. He was one of the 700 VIP guests, who included persons like the legendary Bulgarian singer Lili Ivanova and the showman Slavi Trifonov. "I tend to avoid commenting on the work of other institutions but I am wondering why this person appeared in this place", Edrev is quoted as saying. He himself was in the disco with his wife when he met Zhelyazkov there. According to the Deputy Director of the Burgas prison Dimitar Kostov, Zhelyazkov was on his legal two-day leave from the prison, with which he was awarded for his exemplary behavior. During his leave Zhelyazkov had the right to do whatever he wanted as long it was not against the law, Kostov stated. Zhelyazkov is reported to have returned to the prison hostel Sunday afternoon. In January 2008 Dimitar Zhelyazkov was convicted of organizing an armed group, drug dealing and drug trafficking. He was sentenced to 4,5 years in jail after he confessed as part of a deal with the prosecutor.
