Police have busted a gang producing amphetamines in Poland for trafficking on the local market as well as in Sweden and Ireland among other states, a police spokesman said on Thursday.On Wednesday "we detained 10 people. This brings to 45 the number of people taken into custody in this operation. The masterminds of the gang ... were among the detainees," Poznan city police spokesman Andrzej Borowiak told AFP.
According to Borowiak, "the gang operated chiefly in the Poznan region but also sent drugs to Sweden and Ireland.""The deliveries were large in volume," Borowiak said, while refusing to provide further details as an investigation was still underway. Police were cooperating with other European forces in the case.Police in Sweden said they were not aware of the operation.
