Macias also pleaded to a charge of assault with a deadly weapon; Orozco pleaded to a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Both men must serve 85 percent of their sentences before being eligible for parole, according to prosecutor Tiyen Lin.
Also convicted for their roles in the fatal stabbing were Jose Rodriguez, 20, Timothy Segovia, 21 and Alberto Villarreal, 20, who pleaded no contest to a charge of assault by force likely to cause great bodily injury, with a gang enhancement.
