Report: 3 of nation's most dangerous neighborhoods are in Las Ve - KTNV ABC,Channel 13,Las Vegas,Nevada,News,Weather,Sports,Entertainment,KTNV.com,Action News .:.: "According to a website compiling FBI and local crime statistics, three of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the country can be found in Las Vegas.
The list, compiled by walletpop.com, shows more violent crime in these parts of town than most anywhere in the nation.
In the shadow of the Stratosphere, just north of the 'Spaghetti Bowl', lies the first neighborhood.
In zip code 89106, otherwise known as D Street, residents have a 1 in 7 chance of becoming a victim of violent crime each year.
'I'm going to get a gun,' says resident Etta Blake who says she is almost done with parole stemming from traffic charges. 'I can legally buy a gun now. Yes it is dangerous out here.'
One of the valley's most run down neighborhoods, the only thing new in this part of town are the custom rims on the cars.
'You got gang members. You got drug dealers,' says Blake. 'We're getting hurt by this and its' totally ridiculous and the police aren't doing anything. They're not doing enough.'
Neighborhood two is just up the road near Martin Luther King Blvd. and Carey Ave."
