Det. Andrew Wooding of the Abbotsford Police Gang Suppression Unit said news that eight UN gangsters, including leader Conor D’Monte, are accused of killing rivals, may even steer some away from the gang lifestyle.
“It is definitely a significant step forward and it will send a shock wave through the United Nations gang, but also among other groups who are watching and involved in the same type of lifestyle,” Wooding said Tuesday.
And Wooding said when the case does finally get to court, it is “going to be a real eye-opener for the community at large to see that there are people out there planning and deliberating over people’s murders.”
“It is animalistic. People are upset about people hunting animals these days. Well, these people are out hunting other human beings. Regardless of what lifestyle they are involved in, who gives them the right?”"
