At 14, El Ponchis stands out among Mexico's killers | Houston & Texas News | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle: "Here in this tattered industrial suburb, inside a small house tucked behind a metal gate the color of dried blood, the most public face of Mexico's phalanx of young killers came of age.
Just 14 years old, U.S.-born grade school dropout Edgar Jimenez Lugo — universally known by his nickname, El Ponchis — is accused of killing four men at the behest of one of Mexico's brutal criminal syndicates.
'I slit their throats,' the elfin boy told reporters in early December. He was speaking of those he has confessed to killing in Tejalpa, a warren of concrete houses on the fringe of Cuernavaca, 50 miles south of Mexico City. 'I didn't know what I was doing.'"
