indictment of the Bounty Hunter Bloods and the Nine Tech Gangsters.
FBI and local law enforcement announced the indictment of 11 men on charges of racketeering and acts of violence related to the Portsmouth-based street gangs identified as the Bounty Hunter Bloods and the Nine Tech Gangsters.
The 63-page indictment identifies Dearnta Lavon Thomas as a "founding member and a three-star general" in the gang, as chosen by the "Original Gangster" who brought the Bloods gang from Los Angeles to the East Coast.
The other names in the indictment were Jerrell Ivey Woodley, Kiwanii Edward Mosley, Jamyia Rashad Brothers, Amaad Jamaal Brantley, Roderick Allen Cotton Jr., Darius Demarco Prayer, Darren Antoine Pollard, Tyrone Williams Jr., Draindell Domonota Bassett and Marcellous Cornelius Small.
The indictment was presented by Neil H. MacBride, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, along with representatives of the FBI, and police and prosecutors in Portsmoth. It detailed criminal activity by the gangs in the Craddock and Churchland sections of Portsmouth, the Dunedin section of Western Branch Chesapeake, and the College Square, Huntersville and Burbage Grant sections of Suffolk.
