Oscar Randall, 41, of Lower Township, was sentenced to 15 years in state prison by Superior Court Judge Robert C. Billmeier in Mercer County. Randall pleaded guilty on Sept. 28 to first-degree racketeering. He admitted that he was a member of the Nine Trey Gangsters and conspired with other members of the gang to distribute narcotics. In addition, Judge Billmeier sentenced Stanley Foote, 29, of Newark, to 10 years in state prison. Foote pleaded guilty on Sept. 28 to second-degree conspiracy to distribute narcotics. He admitted selling drugs in Newark with members of the Nine Trey Gangsters.
Randall and Foote were among 48 defendants indicted in June 2007 as a result of a joint investigation by the New Jersey State Police and the Division of Criminal Justice. The Division of Criminal Justice Gangs & Organized Crime Bureau has obtained guilty pleas from 39 of the defendants named in the indictment. One leader of the gang, Michael Smart, 27, of Irvington, was tried in January 2009, convicted and sentenced to 70 years in state prison, including 46 years without parole. The other defendants received sentences of between five and 16 years in state prison.
