arrested dozens of suspected members of Black P-Stones, a notorious faction of the Bloods street gang
Police and federal agents arrested dozens of suspected members of a South Los Angeles street gang Thursday, authorities said.
The multi-agency task force, comprised of about 900 law enforcement officers, arrested more than three dozen people, mainly for narcotics violations, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.
The sweep was the culmination of a yearlong operation that targeted the Black P-Stones, a notorious faction of the Bloods street gang dating back to the 1960s.
State and federal arrest warrants were served at dozens of locations, predominantly in the Baldwin Hills neighborhood of South Los Angeles.
Suspects were booked at a command center at the Los Angeles Sports Arena.
Eighty people were arrested during a similar sweep last month that targeted a San Pedro gang.
Similar raids this month in Sacramento and Central California ended with more than 30 arrests
